This year marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Shoulder to Shoulder Campaign. Ten years ago, over 40 faith leaders gathered for an emergency Interfaith Summit at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. to affirm a statement of solidarity with the Muslim neighbors facing unprecedented anti-Muslim bigotry in the United States. As its mission statement says, they have advanced the vision of accompaniment and solidarity by directly engaging faith leaders in the United States to be strategic partners in countering discrimination and violence against Muslims.
Shoulder to Shoulder’s National Membership consists of religious denominations and faith-based organizations that are committed to standing in multi-faith solidarity with American Muslims. These organizations provide leadership to Shoulder to Shoulder through our Steering Committee.
