Bringing young ecumenical leaders together across communions.

The CUIC Institute on Ecumenism is a transformative ten-month formation experience designed to equip young adult leaders from the Churches Uniting in Christ (CUIC) communions with the tools, relationships, and vision needed for shaping the future of Christian unity. Through nine virtual sessions and one in-person pilgrimage retreat, participants will engage in theological exploration, historical reflection, spiritual formation, and leadership development.

Bringing together two young adults and one ecumenical leader from each CUIC member church, this program fosters a diverse and dynamic community committed to the pursuit of visible unity. Participants will explore the rich history of the ecumenical and interreligious movements, reflect on their own traditions’ engagement in these efforts, and discern ways to lead within today’s complex religious landscape.

Through lectures, small group discussions, devotional practices, collaborative ministry projects, and shared pilgrimage, the Academy encourages a deep integration of faith, learning, and action. At its heart, this program nurtures emerging leaders who are committed to a lived ecumenism—grounded in love, guided by learning, and inspired to lead.
